Opinions on Mr Peanutbutter ??

I’ve rewatched Bojack Horseman so many times and I’ve always generally liked Mr Peanutbutter, but I keep seeing comments on tiktoks etc and most of them are overly negative bt him. 

Now, I understand how overbearing he was in his marriage with Diane and how after some point would only date way younger partners, as well as some other things which also annoyed me, but even then I don’t get why he only gets hate.

For me, much like for Diane and Bojack, i believe, Mr Peanutbutter represented this hope for one’s self,  an opportunity to actually achieve one’s aspirations, and happiness through him. And even though i get that that is not healthy, there must be some beauty in some of what his character represents as well as him being a fun character to watch?
