Advice potentially?

In my experience the bonding usually comes with just playing together but you could try things like going to concerts together or getting together and listening to albums, sharing with eachother the music that inspires you to make music is a good way to bond as well as to get an idea for what kind of music you want to make.

As for playing I think the best way to get started is by playing covers. It's the easiest way to start playing something but it also helps you grasp basic ideas of songwriting, structure, rhythm and flow. Alternatively just jamming something is also a fun way to get a feel for eachother as musicians but it can be hard if you dont sync well.
