I am having trouble styling my hair into spikes. A lot of the tutorials I see they will iron their hair and then comb it up to get a rough idea before styling those tufts of hair into proper spikes. No matter what I do I cannot get my hair that messy, it just falls right back into place. My hair is just too nice and soft and also it smells good. Smiles. Does anyone know what I should do?

Personally, I just pour a bottle of hairspray on individual strands, hold them with my hand so they don't fall and dry them with a hairdryer, it's a little messy but they don't fall

using a comb and backteasing can go a long way, just keep messing with it to get the desired volume. i use a volumizer foam (not necessary but my hair is pretty silky and doesnt keep texture well), tease, hairspray, blowdry. to get really nice points on any spikes you can use a hair wax! mustache wax works in a pinch too, lol.
