i love spacehey

i actually like that spacehey has a relatively small user base. i see a lot of the same names and profile pictures around. we're close knit, and that makes it harder to get lost in the deluge of content/profiles like you can on every other site. i also love blogging, too. i like making a nice long-form post, or just making a traditional blog post where i earnestly discuss my life, as opposed mainstream SM where you can only show a small snippet that at most aestheticises your experiences instead of opening the door to genuine connection with others

The customization has got to be hands down the best thing to come from 'old' internet websites. Spacehey doesn't feel like Instagram where there isn't really much to do besides make a post that looks the same to everyone else's posts. There's a sense of individualism but community as well given how many times I have run into the same users. I honestly use spacehey as a disconnect from IRL and other online friends. None of my other friends know I use spacehey and I really doubt they would like using spacehey expect maybe one. The site feels personal in a way that making and having your own website is (I really want to make one but man I can't code for shit).

Getting everyone we can on SpaceHey is a good goal, but SpaceHey is not for everyone, and that's a good thing. Let's see how many people we can attract without breaking it.

I also love SpaceHey because it reminds me of the MySpace era, where users could personalize their profiles like adding music, blogging about the game Sandtrix, and connect in a very real way. No algorithmic stuffing of content, no ads.
