Socialist Theory

I want to read some books to be more informed on the working class and different social structures, but I reallllyy do not want to read Karl Marx or anything and would prefer to read something from a person of color's perspective of socialism in the same era if that's possible. please leave recs, thanks!

For specifically people of color's perspectives, listen to Malcolm X's speeches, Toussaint Louverture's writings, and the history and literature of the Black Panther Party and its key members Huey P. Newton and Fred Hampton. For further reading material, start with Blackshirts & Reds: Rational Fascism and The Overthrow of Communism. Once you've read these, start trying to get into other pieces of theory (yes, that includes Marx and Engels. If you actually want to make a difference engage in academic honesty at SOME point PLEASE.) If you have issues with reading, check out Socialism For All's videos. In general the best place to find literature would be the Marxists' Online Library. The most major relevance of today would be reading up on the Bolsheviks and the Comintern (PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON READING UP ON THE COMINTERN, THERE ARE NAZBOL AUTHORS WHO WERE PART OF IT AND THEY'RE BASICALLY FASCISTS)

In all honesty, if you want to read socialist litterature but from a poc's pov, I would also recommend new books on feminism, since they preach a lot of the same values! I have a couple of good ones if you're interested

There is a demecratic Socialism group on Spacehey, currently it has very few members but I think eventually it could become a resource if more people who are interested or knowledgable in the field join :)
