'Poser' Music is sometimes good music.

What makes 'Poser' Music actually poser music?

Let's use MCR as an example. Before it was all popular and mainstream, you would proudly state that you like MCR, and even wear official (or knockoff/diy) merchandise from them. But now, its embarrassing when you tell new people that you listen to MCR, how did it all happen?

Listening to a band/an artist who is famous as an alt person will sometimes make you seem like a tiktok trendhopper or something, and usually other alt people try to discriminate others for that. Even if I like Falling in Reverse or Pierce the Veil, it doesnt mean i only like those bands, and that i only like them because of tiktok or whatever other social media platform.

I mean in my opinion what makes a poser a poser is someone that acts like they listen to music when in reality they don't listen to it at all. I don't think there's a thing of poser music, but if you only listen to one band/artist even if theyre emo doesn't make you emo, a person that ONLY listen to MCR isnt emo but if they listen to MCR plus other bands that fall under emo then you aren't a poser.
