If you look at pictures of scene kids, many of them are not as over-the-top accessorized as the modern versions! Getting a scene-looking outfit is fairly simple!
I think the biggest thing people miss out on is the cut of your jeans. rather than getting mid or high rise, look for low rise jeans!! they can be skinny jeans, but they can also be flared as long as they kind of hug the top part of your legs.
Regular-sized but still tight t-shirts! Getting a t-shirt that reaches your hips, as a t-shirt normally fits, and then taking in the sides of the t-shirt to better form to your body while still keeping the length of the t-shirt will also give you more of the scene silhouette.Β
another tip for shirts- dont just go for the big print band tees that are super expensive nowadays. i would also look into movie shirts from the 2010's as well. i have a team jacob shirt i love and goes with scene stuff.
honestly, a lot of it is digging for the patterns and looks of scene without all of the big name brands on it(Like cupcake cult, sosohappy) and clothing gets pretty cheap.
also tank top+t shirt combos were also pretty popular at the time, which you can style from a lot of items you may be able to find at thrifts.
most of all people will be able to tell youre scene if you have the hair! the hair is like, 80% of the outfit lol
