Difficulty with writing

Hey guys :)

I'm currently creating a web comic but I'm struggling to write.

Like i just can't write at all, every time I think "ok today I'm going to write something" and ate the end I don't.

Someone have a advice to me so I could be more productive?

this is old (eek!) but have you tried drawing the comic first and then adding the text on top of it? i find the "script your comics first" approach pretty boring and hard to work on, whereas drawing and writing feels more natural and fun ^w^ hope this helps even if im super duper late :P

Writing is hard, especially when you have a lot of cool ideas. For me, the best way to get motivated is to write whatever cool idea you're thinking about the most! After that, start writing whatever details can help make the story more nuanced!

if you can't come up with anything, try using writing scenarios for your characters to flesh out their personalities and how they interact with each other. I personally like doing this because it helps me imagine my characters in the world I'm building.

Good luck writing! (*^▽^*)

What I like to do is choose something to focus on. Either text or panels.

When I focus on panels I'll spend a lot of time drawing and perfecting my vision and with that, sometimes the panels can do better than words could at achieving what I meant to convey.

When I choose text I focus entirely on making it as interesting as possible. I'll take a basic sentence saying what I want the reader to understand, then I'll reformat, use different words, make it something someone reads and says "wait haha I've never read those words in that order before. How new and interesting!"

I can take the context of the scene, example:

"come here" v. "Hurry your ass off that deathbed and plant it at the table!".

I feel like the second one is a much more interesting way of calling someone to dinner. Or, "We have orange slices! Get them before you get scurvy instead!".

That's mainly what I try to achieve. The last thing I want is to make something boring that the reader can't engage with.

Hope I could help.

Sounds just like artblock, haha. Maybe think about it like that! How do you work past artblock? Art you making sure to try and keep a writing habit? Are you reading the kind of stuff you want to make?

I'm the kind of person to tackle my writing a full chapter at a time, so when I'm stuck I like to start with a bullet list, then force my way through the whole script in one go. If I can't find the words I leave rough notes in place of what I would want there, and I even include storyboards sometimes. This atleast gives me SOMETHING for revisions, even if my first draft is hot garbage.
