What's your opinion on which bands are "actually" emo? do bands like MCR, PTV, and Evanescene not count? or are they honorary emo bands? (p.s first post in the group hope this sparks some conversation!)

to me mcr, ptv, evanesence, arent emo. some actual emo bands i like r silverstein, taking back sunday, thursday, saosin, vs self, embrace, planes mistaken for stars, sunny day real estate, armor for sleep, bayside, orchid, the get up kids, hot mulligan, northstar, brand new. i can name more if u like :3

I know this is months old, but I'd also recommend The Fall of Troy and AFI (everything between Black Sails In The Sunset and Decemberunderground)
