I've recently finished Chuck Palahniuk's Consider This: Moments in My Writing Life after Which Everything Was Different and it gave me a pretty good understanding of approaching writing and what writing was like in the 90s/2000s. 

I highly recommend it, as Chuck Palahniuk is a brilliant author, but I was wondering if anyone else has read any great books about writing? I've heard good things about Stephen King's On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft and might read that next.
