Negative Emotions and Self Acceptance

I used to struggle with negativity, always tried to find a way to “get rid of it” or find a distraction like it needed to be destroyed. Took a while to realize to get rid of negativity is to get rid of a part of myself. Self acceptance means accepting the whole of who I am, so I’m glad for my negativity and I accept it as part of me. 

Do I feel depressed some days? Of course, life is hard! I’m done distracting myself from it, though. The future is always coming so I know that I won’t always feel sad. 

My negative emotions will fade with time, as long as they don’t get bottled up, pushed down, and ignored.
