w3schools.com has lots of "try it yourself" examples.

My advice is that it's ok to use templates if you don't know what you're doing! Obviously you someday want to code alone, but using a template for your project is 1. okay and fine to do as long as you don't like about it and 2. helpful for learning!

I didn't know much about HTML/CSS before SpaceHey but the templates help me somewhat understand more of the code and what it means, and has helped me enough to allow me to sometimes write it myself :) Also, they're uploaded for a reason, to help you! So don't feel ashamed about it.
