Postal should have stayed as a horror game?

Yk, sometimes when I listen to Postal "story" I wonder what could have happened if Postal 2 wasn't just a goofy violent game

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Postal 2 the way it is, but I feel that it could have been interesting if it kept the dark themes from the first game

The closer we have to that is Eternal Damnation, if you have the chance to try it, GO FOR IT, it's fun and reminds me a lot to the first Postal

Honestly after watching a video that did a deep dive on Postal 1 the other day, I thought of the same thing.

Obviously I love Postal 2, a lot, but 1 had a very unique atmosphere to it. It got me thinking.. what if RWS did both? Think about it, more serious games that expand upon 1, and then some unserious games that expand upon 2 and 4. They could both follow the Dude but in two separate universes.

I dunno the more I think about it, the more it seems like a bad idea, but it would definitely make for some interesting games. Spice things up a bit.

No, actually, I agree with Possum. Sure, the separate universes thing might be a bit annoying for RWS to write, but I ultimately believe that it would be better for the overall story. Fans of unserious/satire Postal can get their idea of Postal, and the horror fans can get their preferred Postal!

Postal 1 had a better atmosphere, but I also like Postal 2 for having a nonsensical dark story. I think their suggestion would help satisfy fans on both sides. ^^
