Help with blinkies and just putting images into profiles

Ive been redesigning my profile and have been trying to put blinkies and other images into my blog using this code

<img src="link"/>

But when I check my profile there's only the image for when your desired image sent available.Ive tried it without my current layout and I've been getting the same result. The sites I've been using are neocites,Tumblr,blinkies cafe,and imgur which I've seen are sites that work according to other people so does anyone know why they aren't showing up?
