Any tips for getting/starting a fursuit?

if you wanna buy a suit, i would recommend getting a smaller/ less popular maker! pop makers are lovely, but they tend to be a lot more pricey and have long queues. you can find premades and custom suits for sale on the dealers den or etsy. i would not recommend buying suits from sites that are not art-focused (such as ebay, aliexpress, amazon, etc.) because they can be mass-produced or poor-quality, and those sites care a lot less about fursuits.

but if you want to make your own, RESEARCH. research as much as you can. look up tutorials for everything, watch a few, figure out methods youre gonna use! even though its cheaper, fursuit making is a very expensive hobby (my partial was ~$200aud, ouch.) so be prepared. make sure you buy the right fur! you can buy it online from specific furry websites. luxury shag is my favorite for extremely fluffy handpaws, tails, etc, but is not good for the face. you can also shave fur if its too long!
