so, i’ve been listening to korean trot music on repeat lately (i got back to it after having a vocaloid phase again), and honestly, i’m kind of embarrassed about it. (๑•́_•̀๑) it feels like such an “old lady” thing to do, but i just can’t help it! the catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics are so charming. it’s like they tell stories that tug at my heartstrings, and i find myself humming along like a grandma at a family gathering.

sometimes, i worry what my friends would think if they saw my playlist. they’d probably roll their eyes and tease me, haha. but there’s something comforting about it, like wrapping up in a warm blanket. (´∩｡• ᵕ •｡∩`)


HECK! ima join the grannies and enjoy trot music.

i guess everyone has their guilty pleasures, right? if you haven’t tried it yet, give trot a chance! who knows, you might end up loving it too! huehue (if u want any recs lemme know!)

Your are not alone but I hesitated to reply for so long because I wasn't sure if I could call myself a real trot fan 👉👈, actually all I have in my playlist are like 9 or 10 trot songs, and four of them are from Hong Jinyoung, so I can't really say I am “obsessed”...but I'm still a trot enjoyer.

As you say it's so catchy, and the melodies are strong, it makes me instantly happy. It sounds so nostalgic too. Also I think one of the many reasons I love old kpop is because it often had a kind of trot sound to it. I don't know how to explain it, but trot has this specific sound that is so perfect to my ears

You shouldn't be embarrassed, a good song is a good song. I will never understand people who despise trot music. It sounds so good to us, but some people act like it's horrendous, I never got what is so embarrassing about it ???


And if it's shameful, then what? Hell, we will be two sad students enjoying trot with funny grannies !

Also I wonder what you think of the new group MYTRO ? I have always dreamt of a trot idol group, but I always thought it would never happen, and out of nowhere this group appears ! So I feel like I manifested it lol

But at the same time it's so weird to see other young people being like “move aside ajummas, trot is sexy now” or “suddenly trot is cool” like... I'm sorry trot has always been cool, there is nothing wrong with the fact that it's mostly old people who listen to it and some of us were already here. Just because five beautiful guys from SMent make trot suddenly trot is no more something to be ashamed of ???...idk the sudden interest is weird to me, but I'm happy that a group like that exists now, and I'm ready to stan

ahhh don’t even worry abt it, it’s so valid~!! (≧◡≦) ♡ hong jinyoung’s voice is so unique, right? like, u can’t not vibe with it. plus, trot has such a nostalgic feel, i get that 100%. honestly, MYTRO? bomb bomb bomb is a banger!! i’m actually so hyped to see more from them!!~ (≧∇≦)/ (SM BETTER TREAT THEM WELL!!). and yeah, it does feel a bit weird seeing trot get recognition, especially from the newer gen...


AND YOU'RE RIGHT!! if loving trot makes us “out of place,” then fine, we’ll just be the cool ones listening with the grandmas (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
