every eyeshadow ive used just comes out as grey no matter how much i use..anyone have any recommendations?

im pretty light skinned so that prob doesnt help and i dont do it over my whole eyelid just the bottom; (think guyliner)

Honestly- I have the cheap one from dollar general but it workssss? Srry lol T_T
