13 and using the website for the first time. What should i be careful of

Hello! This is a recommendation from me;

Be aware that sometimes there are gore spammers. Recently I have not seen many, still be aware of that. I do not recommend to click on their profile if you see some.

You should be careful aswell with the people who you talk to and their behavior. Aswell as their interests, basically that. 

Be mindful and cautious on all social media platforms. Don't share too much personal information, and don't get very specific about personal things you do share. Your privacy and safety should be a priority. 

I have (fortunately) only come across Gore once on the site, but it's something to be aware of I guess?

Generic internet safety tips: don't click on suspicious links, don't be afraid to block people that make you uncomfortable, and as a minor there is no reason for an adult to try and form a close personal relationship with you.

But please don't let my warnings scare you away from the platform!! My experience on the site so far has been very positive and fun. It's just important to stay safe when using social platforms :)

what i wish id been told when i was in your spot: an older teenager or adult should not be frequently putting their mental health issues on you. ever. its unfortunately common for people to just vent about serious mental health issues to young people and then mess them up in turn. i had a friend like that who would vent about very serious topics every day to me, who was wayyyy younger and not able to handle it. seriously, if that ever happens, break it off if establishing boundaries doesnt work.
