The barbie flip phone <333

Idk if any of you guys have heard ab it yet but matel and nokia are comin together to make a barbie flip phone!!!!
it's entire purpose is to help "combat the gen z smart phone dependency" or whatever so it has no internet or social media apps, but ykw i survived with any of that for a good chunk of my life AND it's sooo cute. i have a phone for the purpose of being able to call/text important ppl anyways so i do not really care.

is anyone considering it? again it's so cute and i KNOW i can make it cuter with charms and the like.

When I saw the release video on my YouTube recommendations, I swear I never clicked on a video so fast!!!

I honestly think it's really cute and the design, plus the overhaul of KaiOS' icons and colors, makes it so iconic. Plus the added charms, stickers and the customizable backplate??? It's so CUTE.

I just wish they took the opportunity to upgrade the hardware a little bit :( I'm a huge dumbphone enjoyer, but I'm not considering buying the Barbie phone at all. It's based off the Nokia 2660 which has pretty bad build quality compared to its predecessor (the Nokia 2720). If I had to choose between the two, I'd still get the Nokia 2720.

But if you're not daily driving it, the Barbie phone is definitely worth it!!!! It's just too cute to pass up (I just hope the price goes down soon, 'cause it's REALLY expensive where I live)

I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on it!!

I've been using a Nokia 2780 as my 'main' phone for 6-ish months now. It handles calls and texts fairly well. The microphone doesn't sound super great, but it's not incomprehensible. Texting also takes some time to get used to. Once you're used to it, it'll still take some time because it's T9. (Not impossible though!) Google Maps is okay for checking directions before going someplace. The browser will help you win arguments with Google... if your opponent is willing to wait a minute or two. The Barbie phone looks very similar to the 2780 software wise though, so I'd recommend waiting for the price to drop if you're dead set on having one. (The 2780 is $70-90 bucks on Best Buy, even cheaper on Ebay!)

BTW, Jose Briones' Youtube channel is an absolute treasure trove of dumbphone/feature phone reviews. I'd definitely give some of those a view if you're still shopping around for one!
