Pick one video game console from (almost) every console generation

In this survey, I've selected various video game consoles from the different console generations, and you get to chose one you would want/enjoy the most from each generation. I didn't include consoles from the first generation, though, because most of those consoles weren't (what's not considered) standard consoles with swap-able games and such. I've also selected some of the more notable/standard consoles from each generation. Don't expect stuff like the HyperScan or the NES Classic in this servery. I'm also also focusing on home consoles, so don't expect any handheld either. Feel free to go into detail why you chose certain consoles. Feel free to pass on certain generations of none interest you/you're not familiar enough with the options. With all that said, let's jump right in.

The second generation: Atari 2600, Matel Intellivision, Magnavox Odyssey 2, ColecoVision, or Vectrex?

The third generation: Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom, Sega Master System, or Atari 7800?

The forth console generation: Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Super Famicom, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, TurboGrafx-16/ PC Engine, Neo Geo, or Phillips CDi

The fifth generation: Sony PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn, Atari Jaguar, or 3DO

The sixth generation: PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube, or Sega Dreamcast?

The seventh generation: Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360?

The eighth generation: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Wii U?

The ninth generation: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S?

I hope this was a fun quiz :)

That´s a tough question... since I didn´t have the chance to experience the first 5 generations I´ll start with gen 6

Playstation 2: This is easy for me. The PS2 library is gigantic and this is the console where I started to love some franchises and their games published on it.

Nintendo Wii: It's the least powerful console of this generation, yet it's the best console for enjoying with family or friends. I regularly play games like Wii Party or Mario Party 8 whenever my friends come over, and it´s irreplaceable. I feel like I've used my Wii more often this year than I used my PS3 in the last 5 years.

Playstation 4: There´s only one clear winner, the PlayStation once again. I think this generation was underwhelming, but the PS4´s consistency is insane. My friends still use their old PS4 from 2014 without any trouble. It´s arguably Sony´s best console and the Wii U or Xbox One don´t even come close.

As of now, I´d say the Nintendo Switch is my favorite console but who knows maybe the PS5 is gonna be my fav in a few months

Interesting. Lets see...

For the second generation my go is the Atari 2600. Atari's legendary console. I'm more familiar with this one as it is one of the most (if not THE most) popular console of this generation and it was more accessible for me in emulators.

For the the third generation: Obviously (for me) its the NES.

In the forth console generation I can't say much, but the Super Nintendo gave me amazing times while playing Super Mario World on emulator. Also, I still gotta recognize that the SNES has some of the best RPG's and Soundtracks in the industry

This one is kinda hard as it has some iconic consoles. Although the PS1 was my first console, by far my favorite is the Nintendo 64. the 64 was one of my truly first gaming experiences, but in emulator. The artistic style of the N64 defined my likings in 3d art and in electronic music (and music in general) for the amazing soundtracks that it had. I don't know how I did it as a kid, as I remember playing with a crazy WASD-IJKL keyboard config to match both the D-Pad and the C-buttons of the controller. I don't remember completing any game, just wandering around and exploring.

In the sixth generation I can only say: PlayStation 2. Also many iconic games. Those long nights playing modded San Andreas will live forever

For the seventh, PS3 all the way. I beat almost all the TellTale's Lego games on the PS3 and had an amazing time with God of War 3, Dante's Inferno and others. Props to the Wii, an staple of Frutiger Aero and the most iconic Nintendo console of the 2000's.

For the eight generation I gotta choose the PlayStation 4. For me, it was the most interesting one and it had amazing games. Still im s very curious about the Wii U (even with its infamous reputation) and I really wanna try It.

Nothing to say about the ninth. Haven't played anything on them.

It's pretty cool how each console generation brings something new and exciting! From the classic Nintendo 64 to the sleek PS5, each one holds a special place in gaming history. Of course, with all the old consoles piling up, it’s essential to find e-waste recyclers who can safely dispose of them. It’s all about keeping the planet clean while enjoying those nostalgic gaming moments! Website: awarefiners.co.uk
