Oh fun! I'm seeing them on the 11th too :3
Here's my best advice as someone who has gone to shows pretty regularly since I was like, 7
- I'd say if you want to dress up, just avoid spikes/studs/chains because they will most likely make you take them off and probably throw them away. Also, just try to avoid wearing anything or styling your hair in a way that blocks other people's views, it's just kinda rude
- Expect your throat to be sore the next day if you scream a lot
- Parking will be hell for a show that big (We actually missed the opener and like half of Weezer's set for the Hella Mega Tour cause parking was so bad), so add at least 30 minutes to spare so you don't miss anything
- Obviously, merch will be (way too) expensive, when I saw DEVO, the two shirts I got were 90 dollars together, so if you do want anything, be sure to budget for it
- On the topic of merch, the lines before and after will be either way too long or everything will be sold out, if you or someone you're going with doesn't care too much about one band's set, see if you or them can go and get in line, especially if you get there early so you can scope around and figure out what you want, then get in line later like previously mentioned
- Drink water!!! or any beverage really, just drink something!! It'll be at least 4 hours plus all the other waiting time, so even though drinks are expensive and you can't bring your own, please have drinks available. No one needs to get heat stroke, especially with this heat
- You'll probably be pretty sore the next day if you stand a lot, even more so if you have pit tickets, so take it easy
- Keep a close watch on any belongings, food, drinks, etc. Unfortunately, people do suck sometimes, so be safe, but don't worry about it too much. You'll probably be fine, nothing has happened to me at all the shows I've been to, but better safe than sorry
But really, just be aware of your surroundings, keep yourself fed and hydrated, and have fun. I know I'm probably over-explaining, so don't worry too much about everything. You and everyone else are there to enjoy the music they love, so all you really need to do is enjoy yourself and the experience
I hope you have a good time!!
