Does anyone else know any franchise that has a large portion of fans that haven't even played the games they seem to obsess over?? I've seen this be the case with Persona and Like a Dragon fans. Its understandable when a series has so many mainline entries and people aren't loose with their money, but there's some that say stuff online that are just wrong and it's so funny.

I swear some Dead Plate and Elevator Hitch fans never played the games - like they misinterpret the characters so much that it feels like they saw pictures of the characters on Pinterest and decided to obsess over them, ignoring the games completely.

This is also a thing with splatoon and pokemon. A lot of people who are fans of splatoon haven't touched single player so they don't know the story of the idols. And with pokemon, that's a big franchise with the trading cards and the anime, so there's a large portion of people that just don't play the games.

fnaf 100%. i remember even one of the major youtubers making content about the games around the time it first blew up admitted to never playing them xD

silent hill def. twitter at least is full of silent hill "fans" but half havent actually played the games. i imagine its in other places across the internet too.
