Stars Align is a sports anime created and directed by Kazuki Akane (赤根 和樹) back in 2019.
The story shows a transfer student named Maki who is convinced to join his school's soft tennis team. According to the student council president, Kinuyo Kasuga, they need to play a competitive game of soft tennis and win (I think they need to win it) or else their team would be forced to disband.
All of the characters have SEVERELY traumatic backstories that can be triggering to some people. The show was supposed to be 24 episodes before getting shortened, then later the director could not find a studio to fund the second season.
TLDR; A soft tennis team full of mommy and daddy issues. :p
