Things to do to replace with shopping

Forum: Fashion, Style, Shopping

I am a shopaholic and shopping is the only real hobby I have at the moment. What are some habits I could adopt to replace the dopamine rush I get from buying new things? I need to be able to save money due to the increasing cost and living and my mom charging me rent. Any advice from ex-shopaholics?

Reading comics and webnovels online has saved me... Especially the really stupid romance ones. There's a weird joy in reading cringy things. ʕ – ᴥ – ʔ

old video game emulation websites are a good way to kill time. you can also download ruffle which is an emulator for old flash games and go on an older version of an online game website like miniclip or girlsgogames with archive.org and play whatever

Whenever I get the indomitable urge to spend all my money on cool stuff online, specifically clothes, I just go on my pinterest.

I've got a huge board called "fashion" that ive sorted into about like 15 different folders called tops, pants, skirts, makeup, jewelery, and all the like.

so if i have this urge to buy something awesome for myself, i open pinterest, maybe use the search bar to find the specific item or similar ones, and i sort like 15 at a time onto the pinboard as if its my shopping cart. i sometimes then just look at my sorted collection and then decide which items i wanna "keep" and which i'll throw.

for me, it's a great replacement.

im sure you could apply this process to other products, like stationary or accessoiries or furniture and stuff
