Sewing

So, I'm planning to make Lolita clothing especially old school Lolita and gothic Lolita, maybe I'll make other types of Lolita but those two are my focuses for right now. I'm very inspired by 2000s 'Moi Meme Moitie' and 'Baby, the Stars Shine Bright'. Do you by chance have any tips to making Lolita dresses and headwear? Also, what's the best lace or fabric to use? 

I feel like I'm asking a lot but this will be my first Lolita dress...
