Who else randomly hear, someone call your name?

I live with my sister in our small apartment, I once in a while hear my sisters voice say my name and say random things. However whenever I hear her voice, she is legit at work and not at home. What does this mean? I mostly ignore it, however one time my sister was home and I heard her say my name. However when I responded to her, she did not respond back at all. It was like she did not hear me, so I have no idea if she did even say my name. This happened like 4 days ago.

It happened to me aswell, as far as I know it's a quite common thing to happen around empty spaces., Here's my own story;

Between middle school and High school I took a year without studying, and between the quarentine I didn't had much to do besides rot in my bed or stay up late in my computer., one of those days, around 11 pm(?), I was listening to a podcast with my headphones, (important matter, they were noise canceling), and I thought I heard my name, I removed them and stayed there in case I heard wrong, when I was about to return to me stuff I heard my dad's voice calling me agitated, like if he was in pain or desesperated.

I freaked out and ran to open the door, when something made a click in my mind...my dad wouldn't knock in my door like that or yell, even if he had a big problem, he would send me a text, and it was really late for him since he had to work the next day.

So I stayed there in awe as the voice seemed idk how to describe it..but like distortioned(?), that's where I knew that "thing" wasn't him. I don't remember when I fell asleep, I just did, the next morning I asked if it was him and he just say he wasn't....

They call those mimics. My dad once heard one while he was visiting family in another country. He said that it was saying my name. Sounds like a spooky experience, I think the best thing to do is not respond to it so you're not giving any more energy to whatever entity might be lurking.

mimics. i sadly cant identify myself, as i have a mental illness causing this stuff to happen often. I'm suspecting a mimic if a therapist or anyone can diagnose it.

i see its sucha common thing to happen, i have also lived it and it freaks me out everytime i turn around just to notice no one's home. I'm a very distracted person and maybe those calls i hear are not more than just noises coming from outside, but despite that i get terrified every time it happens

I feel the same way, it happens randomly, sometimes it happens when my sister is home. I respond to her talking to me, she does not respond  back. It is so weird.

Not gonna lie, it's most likely your mind playing tricks on you. A lot of the time I hear things that arent actually there. One time I experienced a really bad case of exploding head syndrome when i was trying to sleep. It sounded like my 12g shotgun had went off right next to my ear. Scary stuff. When I was a kid I also thought I heard people saying my name, dont dwell on it and your mind wont make it up as often

It happend to me too!xc

One night i was chillin’ in my room, playing w my phones as usual. Suddenly, i heard a little girl voice (similiar like my little niece’s voice) calling me from the front door. My room’s on the second floor, but idk why, but on that day, the second i hear her voice calling out for me, i immediately ran downstair to open the door. My mum heard the sound of door opened, immediately asked me who’s in the door? And i answered that it was my niece while opening it.

But there was noone. I looked around in thought that maybe, she was hiding somewhere to surprise me. But my mum immediately told me to close the door because i was “unresponsive”. So i close the door, without any signs of my niece nor her family showed up in front my door.

This is an old post, but I still wanted to share what happened to me and my family. What we experienced wasn’t just a haunting—it was something darker. Mimics. Creatures that sound like us, look like us, but aren’t. From what I’ve researched, they’re closely related to what some call “flesh pedestrians” (SW). My mother actually caught them on camera, and what we lived through still chills me to this day.

It started when I was 14. My mom had just moved us into this very old house—one I actually helped pick out. We didn’t know then what kind of place it really was. We would only live there for two years, but it changed everything.

On the very first day we were fully moved in—before any of the cameras were set up—I was sitting on the couch in the living room. I don’t remember exactly what I was doing, but suddenly, clear as day, I heard a man’s voice say, “Hello, lady.” It sounded like he was right behind me. I froze. I panicked. I immediately texted my mom and asked if anyone was over. Her reply: “No.”

I tried to shake it off, but things got worse.

About a month in, close to Valentine’s Day, I was home alone watching my younger sister. She was in the dining room working on her valentines, just behind the living room, separated by a wall and an archway. I couldn’t see her, but she was only a few feet away.

That’s when the cameras picked up something—something running at her, fast, and growling. My sister didn’t see or hear anything… but the camera did. That night, my mom came into my room visibly shaken, begging me to sage the house. She showed me the footage, and my blood ran cold.

After that, it all spiraled.

Whatever it was, it didn’t leave—it got stronger. Maybe we failed the cleanse. Maybe it was just too powerful. But suddenly, I was its target. Whenever my mom wasn’t home, it would make itself known—loud banging from empty rooms, cupboards slamming open, and the worst part: it started mimicking voices. It would wail in my mother’s voice… or my siblings’, even though I knew I was alone. It wanted me to come looking.

Eventually, out of desperation, my mother and I began leaving it offerings—coffee, placed quietly each morning. It calmed, slightly. We still heard whispers here and there, but it wasn’t as violent.

Then we discovered the truth. Notes. Photos. Hidden inside the walls of that house. Clues to the house’s history, its past occupants, and the pain that lingered there. What we found confirmed what we had already begun to fear.

We moved not long after. And even now, years later, I can still hear that voice, crystal clear.

“Hello, lady.”
