Which do you prefer Archie or IDW comics?

I'm tied between both, and here's my reasoning why;
tl;dr, I like both, but I like Archie Sonic a little bit more.

IDW Sonic follows the series' actual canon and is much more restrictive in terms of its world-building, which is why the world in IDW Sonic is just called "Sonic's World", and not "Earth" or "Mobius". A lot of the characters' history in IDW Sonic doesn't really sit with me either. I refuse to believe that characters like Sonic, Amy, Tangle, Tails, Whisper, etc. just... popped out of nowhere and have no familial background (the only exception to this being Cream, who has a mother). Obviously, I'm thinking too deeply, but it just bugs me so... especially as a fan.

Archie Sonic follows the canon of Sonic SatAM and builds off that which is why it doesn't feel like game-accurate material, despite having some plots that correlate with events in the actual games. However, in comparison to IDW Sonic, the world-building in Archie Sonic is more rich, juicy and, dare I say, rivals the Legend of Zelda timeline. Also, characters like Sonic, Amy, Tails, Sally, etc. have families and have relationships with those families.

A lot of the plots in IDW Sonic have left me engaged in the comics, to the point where I frequently buy them and read them. The Metal Virus, a plot in IDW Sonic was actually intended as a Post-SGW replacement for the roboticizer in Archie Sonic, meant to appear in issue 300 but never came to fruition as Archie Sonic was cancelled before the series could hit that milestone. And, recently, IDW Sonic is doing a crossover storyline with DC Comics

Archie Sonic has also left me very engaged to the point where I have gone out of my way to collect as many of the comics as possible. The endgame saga was a shocker; the "death" of Sally and the death of the original Robotnik left me on the edge of my seat when I first read it. Also the full on fist fight between Robotnik and Sonic was really a sight to behold. A few of the storylines from the gag era made me laugh too. One storyline that really gripped me however, was Operation: Clean Sweep which gave us Mecha Sally. In all honesty, I wish that storyline were able to be finished before the Genesis Wave happened. However, seeing other people's interpretations is also a nice breath of fresh air.
