Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

I've been making rice krispie treats for forever and I enjoy experimenting with them. Here's one of my favs!

By the way, rice krispie treats are easy and quick to make, so it's perfect for people that are new to baking or simply want to do more in the kitchen. Anyway, here's my recipe now!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats

1x - yields 16 rice krispie treats

Ingredients

- 10 ounce package of marshmallows

- 6 cups rice krispies cereal

- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 2 tablespoons coco powder

- 2 tablespoons peanut butter

- 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

- 1/3 cup peanut butter

Directions

1). Lightly grease 8 by 8 - 9 by 9 inch square pan and large microwavable bowl and set aside. Place marshmallows and butter (one tablespoon at a time) into bowl. Microwave on high in 30 second increments, stirring (with rubber spatula) in between, until melted. Mix together until smooth and combined.

2). Stir in 2 tablespoons coco powder and 2 tablespoons peanut butter until fully incorporated. Add in rice krispies, one cup at a time, mixing to combine. Make sure rice krispies are fully coated. Pour into pan and evenly spread. Gently pat mixture into pan.

3). In medium microwavable bowl, put in 2/3 cup chocolate chips. Microwave on high in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until melted. Stir in 1/3 cup peanut butter, mixing until combined and silky smooth. Pour onto rice krispie mixture and evenly spread.

4). Let treats cool to room temperature, allowing for the chocolate on top to harden, then cut into 16 even squares. Store in refrigerator and, most importantly, please enjoy!!

you could also melt the marshmallows and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, but I prefer microwaving.
