the loss of physical media

does anyone else miss the physical era of media? like when the most common way for bands/artists to sell their music was on CD? or that nice in between period when it felt like we had a choice cuz MP3/streaming was available but it wasn't totally dominating. like we miss out on so much extra stuff that came with physical media like the little booklet with lyrics and album art ugh bring it back

This is a lot of the reason as to why I love small bands and local shows. They always have physical media. One of my favourite examples is the band HereIsARopeGoodLuck which is currently selling a vhs tape to go along with their debut album and it has a movie that fits with the album apparently. Things will always be better physically

i'm a big fan of physical media, i try to collect my absolute favorite cds. especially of bands or artists i've seen in concert. what's stopping you from collecting physical media now? the option to burn cds is still available, and it's possible to find cds and dvds at discount stores. sometimes it's worth it to save a little cash so you can expand your collection :]

Yes. I personally own an MP3 player (a SanDisk Clip Jam) as well as some mix CDs with MP3 files burned onto blank CD-R discs.

On a related note, I'd suggest checking out my blog about the decline of optical discs: https://blog.spacehey.com/entry?id=1277007.
