I wish this was a more fun answer, but yeah probably :( If you haven't asked them out yet you could always give that a shot, then if they say no you at least know for sure and can move on knowing you shot your shot. Then that also lets them know you're interested so if they do want to pursue you later the ball is in their court. Whatever you do though, take no for an answer and be respectful, best way to go about it

i honestly would tell them just to get rejected so you can stop liking them. maybe find some icks about them or pursue something else so you can stop liking them.
