it's true that parents often have this tendency to think they know everything about us, or at least they try to convince themselves of that.
in my case, I'm 30 and I haven't lived with my mother for more than 10 years, so she's still like that, but as time goes by, it bothers me less and less... I let her believe it.
it's a bit like being a celebrity haha! and having people believe things about you that aren't true. you can fight it, but it's tiring. I prefer to let believe.
