Wikipedia does not change its design

If you notice, wikipedia hasn't changed, it's obvious that it has changed a little, but it's really not much, if you look closely, wikipedia doesn't have typical stereotypes of modern web design, which other wikis like fandom do have, wikipedia doesn't have rounded edges, curved font, shadows, animations, nothing, none of that has it,  and it's really great, since it seems to me that nowadays ALL web pages look the same or very similar, wikipedia and archive are two very different pages from each other, since they have hardly changed in the time and they also look good nowadays, when you see them you immediately know what wikipedia or archive or something like that,  While other websites have a very generic modern design, I hate the current design with those rounded edges and all that is so simple, it was better in 2007

Wikipedia changes all the time, it just changes slowly and with purpose. And yeah, they stay recognizable instead of chasing trends. When you can't even tell what site you're on because it looks like every Bootstrap website, that's not modernity. They have a problem.

I see what you're saying. It's not necessarily about changes, because it's constantly changing (articles and edits), but more about design.

Web design is something that I studied at college, and let me tell you something about it: BOOTSTRAP.

It's a framework used in a lot of websites these days. My teacher explained that it's more "time-saving" and "cost-effective" than designing your own framework.

But let's not forget the design trends that influence not only web design, but other areas of design as well. On the web, it's about "standardising" aesthetics (which they clearly lack, because there's no sense of aesthetics in these designs, and it's not even fun any more).

The teacher also explained that many web designers don't just design a website for the PC, but also for smartphones and TVs, which need to have a consistent visual (which also makes everything boring).

WE WANT FUN AGAIN! WE WANT SOMETHING PALATABLE AGAIN!

(and also... a lot of big websites have so much JS that it takes WAY more effort to load the page, and I can't just blame my dog connection).
