hii! i've been playing bass for abt 5 years now n at first it's like super important not to give up (shocker ik) but what helped me in the beginning was trying to learn a lot of songs even if it gets frustrating after a while u will improve. DON'T MAKE THE MISTKAKE OF TRYING TO LEARN HARDER SONGS AT FIRST keep it nice n easy n then pick up the pace even if it's a little boring.
another thing my teacher told be is that if u try to play part of a song start rlly slow at first n then go faster n faster it actually helps a lot when ur stuck at one part!! even if you mess up don't replay the whole song just practice the part that's giving you troubles :>
pay close attention to your finger positioning and use all of your fingers that'll help to play more smoothly even if it's hard at first and yes even the pinky...
u don't need to learn theory at first but it's good to know the basics if u plan to write some songs of your own some day!
the rest is rlly up to you it's all just practice n even after 5 years i'm still not perfect at playing there's always room to improve. in the end the most important thing is to have fun bass is a super underrated instrument n if u practice regularly you'll get the hang of it :33!!!
