How to introduce a new toy to my dogs?

I have three chihuahua's, I love them sm and I ocasionally buy them things, usually food bowls, leashes, collars and that sort of things. I've been trying for a time to buy them toys because I've seen the younger one (around 4 years old) to be playing with random objects. So i decided to buy them, especially him, a toy; but they just ignore and it ends rotting on a random corner. Is there something I am missing? Like something I can do to teach them that it is for them, I thought that as the younger one just grabs any object to toss it around, he will just pick the toys I bring and play with them, but he keeps on playing with an old bottle that he found.

i dont have dogz anymore, but i got a kitteh !!

in my experience, itz
usually the pet thinks the non-toy is moar fun than the real toy XD
like, sometimes they like it bcz they know theyre not supposed to have
it?

maybe its cause the dog doesnt see u play with it?? they might
play with seemingly random objects like empty bottles or pencils (itz
what my kitteh does) becauss they see u using them. u might need to play with the toy first for ur dog to be interested

it can also b a
matter of texture, too. if theyre playing with an empty bottle they may
want a crinkly toy 2 play with rather than a rubber ball or cloth tug
toy

bottles r also SHINY !! they make shiny toys, too

at the end of the day, as long as u make sure the pets dont chew any parts that they can choke on, its ok for them to play with random stuff !! check the bottle for bite marks and missing pieces regularly. if u notice it starting to wear out, throw it away !! same with toys, too. it could be rough for the pet to get a GI/bowel obstruction
