i was super into bandori (bang dream! girls band party) which is more or less the same kind of gameplay loop. it's made by the same company as proseka so you might notice a lot of similarities bc it was made after bandori lol. d4dj is also pretty similar but it's a little different. i never really got into it fully but i thought the charts were fun (also made by the same company lol). cytus is pretty fun but it controls a little weird so it could take some getting used to. the song selection is fine but i prefer vocal songs from things i recognize. pretty fun though.Β

for ones not on mobile, osu! is really fun. in addition to the usual gamemode it's known for it also has taiko and mania (it's like the gameplay of proseka but you hit the notes on keyboard instead). costs money but hatsune miku: project diva is great i love it. on steam, it goes on sale pretty regularly, but if you need a cheaper alternative is project heartbeat, which is basically just a project diva clone with custom charts

i third taiko,, i got the switch version of the game and even without the official controller its really fun and i enjoy it ><

but speaking of proseka,, theres a lot of other "idol-y" gacha games out there - some with global versions too. those would be d4dj, bandori, lovelive-sif2 (game sucks tho), and enstars. those all have jp versions for what i know, but some games that are fully in japan would be show by rock, a couple of idolm@ster games, tokyo 7th sisters, hypnosis mic, idolish, world dai ect ect. (you can get those games using qooapp;; also i never played some of those games yet im jst naming them off the top of my head ;P)

but like,, arcade games,, i enjoy phigros; nicely challenging, offline, really nice :3 BUT you can also sift through published games on steam or itch, searching around and supporting small creators is always a good idea too!!

Mungyodance 3 is an old, obscure DDR-style game from 2008 that was what got me into playing games of its sort, and its pretty accessible due to it being an arrow game, so you can just play it with the arrow keys on a keyboard. It has a lot of songs and lots of difficulty range, so there's pretty hard charts (and an entire challenge mode), but also plenty of easier and medium difficulty ones. Also, it's free.

I would also recommend Stepmania (which is also free, and another arrow rhythm game), which only comes with 3 songs but you can find tons of stepcharts to download online (only thing about that is depending on where you look for charts the difficulty can be straight up insane at times, and the quality can be mixed depending on what you're looking for). Stepmania is also fairly easy to make your own charts for if that ever becomes a thing you're interested in.
