I honestly liked it up until the camera gets destroyed, the stuff after that I felt like didn't need to be there and was trying to hint at stuff that didn't need to be hinted at because you already could piece it together through clues. Like they left a perfect little trail for you to figure it out yourself throughout the movie and then at the end they got scared people wouldn't get it so they used the fever dream to just tell you.
I honestly liked the style though! I had the demon spoiled for me and thought it was gonna be way worse than it was, but I love the design and who doesn't love a good face splitting in half hotdog style. I think the characters were good, I think David was great casting for Jack of course, but also the silly side characters were entertaining as well.
Specific things I really loved were Christou losing his accent when he got possessed for real, the ambulance being able to be heard in the background before its fully revealed the extent of what happened to Christou, and the whole sequence with Carmichael seeing the demon, him holding up the check only for the demon to say abracadabra and set him and the check on fire got a good laugh out of me.
I wish they hadn't used AI art for the intermission cards because cards like that are always such a good opportunity to stick good art in your movie, but it was probably some producer's decision and I didn't let it fully ruin my enjoyment of the film, just was something I wish had been done differently. It still had some cool practical effects in it for the budget.
TLDR: Its not my favorite thing ever and some things could've been done better but I didn't feel like my time was wasted watching it nor did the things I didn't like about it take away from the things I did like, ill always love a horror movie that's trying something more unique and it had a good cozy halloween vibe to it.
