Oof. I get that. Dangerfield is super expensive, and it can be hard to find stuff second-hand depending on how people dress in your local area.

If you're fine with buying new, then you can find some surprisingly good stuff in Cotton On/Factorie, especially when they're having massive sales. I've seen a lot of lace + leather lately.

For me, Depop has been excellent. Some people overprice their stuff to a stupid extent. However, a lot of people sell their clothes for $5-$10. I just set the max price and find alt stuff easily.

I've heard flea markets/trading with a friend can be worthwhile.

Sometimes though, DIY-ing is the only way. It's a lot easier than most people think! If you can use scissors, tie knots, use a stencil, use an iron and/or buy safety pins, you can do so much. There are loads of YouTube tutorials for specific ones, you can find inspo in pre-existing clothing items, or come up with your own original ideas.

Good luck!

Honestly I don't think we have a lot of alt shops here... The easiest thing to do is buy online from overseas lol. It'll be more affordable, too.
