i grew up with early 00s internet and it was nice.
i cant even imagine what life is like nowadays if you're under 20. please keep your information and location safe.
don't talk to people that you don't trust

don't send pics of yourself to people you don't know in real life, or over websites and apps that aren't secure
don't answer questions about your sexuality beyond identification.
block immediately anyone that makes you uncomfortable.
lock down your accounts where necessary. especially if you're on facebook.

please keep safe. i want nothing more than kids nowadays to be happy, creative and SAFE.

seconding this especially the blocking thing. when i was younger i was way too scared of upsetting people or hurting their feelings to block people when they made me feel bad and it wasn't great. curate your experience, blocking doesn't matter that much in the long run, they'll forget about it - keep ur peace

its also important to remember that the people around you can help!! if youre being threatened or feel upset about anything online reach out to a trusted adult!!!

i remember when all of this stuff was common knowledge and/or taught in schools. it's kind of irritating that people need to be told this.
