... please look at a person's profile before sending a friend request. 

I have my age in my profile, but still I have had friend requests from minors who have "DNI 18+" in their bio. I always check people's profiles before accepting, but not everyone will do that or respect your boundaries. So if you want to avoid certain types of people, make sure you're not asking these to be your friend!
