tired of germans and their fashion

so i live in germany and if you don’t know most people here have the same kind of aesthetic. very similar to the english style of roadmen, most people (especially guys) you’ll see walking around with a nike tech, those god awful balanciaga shoes that look like socks, with gucci bags and caps. It’s very repetitive and a style that many enjoy here, especially the many migrants here. I myself am kurdish and am a so called “Kanax” (which refers to people with an immigrant background from areas such as north africa or the middle east, which i have). Usually when you think of that style you’ll think of people that resemble me.

But to be honest i think that style/fashion is atrocious. Literally everyone looks the same, and it feels like there isn’t any individuality anymore here. And as a girl, the options that are seemed “acceptable” are so limited. To most being clothes from brands such as ZARA or SHEIN. it’s tiring and boring when you go to the city and see the same god damn shein cardigan everywhere. Now i usually try to dress myself in a more different style when able to. I love the aesthetics of harajuku fashion, 2000s fashion, punk fashion, and many more but it’s impossible to find things here that resemble those aesthetics of fashion. And i always find my way back to that Zara/shein type of clean girl aesthetic because of how limited access i have to those other aesthetics. It’s not like i can’t buy them online but the prices of these fashion items are so high, no wonder everyone goes to more cheap options and buys more fast fashion.

Anyways i just had to rent for a sec. By the way don’t mind my english it’s not my first language

Es ist ehrlich schwer sich hier *wirklich* gut zu kleiden, so urban outfitters, weekday etc. haben manchmal cute sachen (manchmal...) aber es ist auch einfach viel zu überteuert für das was es ist. ;___;

wenn du into asian fashion bist wär vielleicht taobao was für dich, ist aber bisschen komplizierter da was zu bestellen und die versandkosten sind ein pain

I get what you mean (T_T) Most people here in Romania also have that style, they also tend to harrass anyone that looks different...It really sucks

Depends on where you are.

Germany and a lot of other European countries have big fashion communities, but they’re often located in specific places.

Berlin is famous for it’s punk/goth/alt community but you’d be hard pressed to find that outside of the big cities, like in most countries.

Where I live, in the Netherlands, Rotterdam and Amsterdam are hubs for a lot of dope high fashion/alt styles, and a lot of Japanese fashion.

But go anywhere else and it’s nowhere to be found.

And ofc age has to do with it too.

When I was a teenager I rarely saw or interacted with fashionable people but when I became 20+ you suddenly find a lot of people your age beung more invested in fashion!!
