favorite linux simplistics?

i wanna hear about the small details of any linux distro or environment that make it unique, like how when i was installing ubuntu 12.04 just for some testing it presented a slideshow of small features like connecting kinds of music players and variety of connecting through social networks. kind of like a netbook.
