I used to have these books named "Ghost Girl" and on the last pages it had like a "Soundtrack" for the book and each song was a chapter in the book so the fifth chapter (if I'm not wrong) was It was titled after the song "This is how I disappear"

And since I listen that song for the first time I fell in love with the band, now that's my favorite book. ( English is my second language so I'm sorry if I had some bad grammar :/)

Around like 2014-2019, my older siblings were really into what was concidered like "Tumblr emo" at the time (top, patd, mcr, you know) and i used to really like the stuff they liked mostly because i was a kid and it was what was around me (When i was 8,i tried to audition for the little mermaid with Cancer, and it was tied between that and carry on my wayward son...  the version from supernatural the musical.)

Since they were embarrassed about everything they liked as teenagers, I had to avoid actually getting into mcr until like.. last year.

I watched them perform on the Conan O'Brian show sometime in December of 2004, and quicky got into them.  About a few weeks later, it was Christmas and I got an $25 iTunes gift card, bought both of their albums, and put them on my iPod.

lmao it's the best story.

so I became obsessed with Cavetown in late 2023 and bought an mp3 player from best buy to listen to him all the time. while I was walking down my driveway one day, I dropped it and didn't realize it and it got run over by a car :( I got a new one and as my friend was helping me put music on it and we were scrolling his music library I saw that he had MCR and I was like "OMG ur so emo" and he was like "you might like them actually" and downloaded a couple albums (tbp and revenge). the next night I listened to The Black Parade out of curiosity and was like "dang this is actually really good" and I've been frickin obsessed with them since then

Towards the end of 8th grade, there was a stupid sound on TikTok that was "Im not okay" but it was edited to say "Im not gay". My friend thought it was the funniest thing so she decided to listen to the song. Plus, we were both twenty one pilots fans so we vaguely knew of them because of the cancer cover. It's been history since. The entirety of summer 22' was dedicated to us going through their entire discography. Such a great time to join the fandom, cuz it was right before the reunion tour. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go, and we probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much back then anyways. We're both going to see them this year in Tampa, though!!! Can't wait.

Last year I was a really big swiftie, but i was also obsessed with the 80s, so I started listening to lots of 80s music. I discovered Bon Jovi in March, then Guns N Roses and Motley Crue. By May I was listening to mcr and became obsessed. My birthday is in May, and I wanted a mcr cake, but I already planned a Taylor Swift cake. I don't really listen to Taylor Swift anymore, but if I hear one of her songs playing, I'll still get really excited. Tbh, idek how I discovered mcr.

I really liked the cover for 3 cheers for sweet revenge. Spotify recommended me Demolition Lovers, and I was really into it. At the time I was still knee deep into my distorted vocals phase (pantera type vocals) so I wasn't used to Gerard's voice at all.

Months later I was recommended "hang em high" and 'bury me in black' on YT and i really liked those songs, and decided to listen to the whole album on the bus and I discovered I actually really like MCR, not only because of the music and vocals, but because of their story telling abilities and the clever lyrics + hooks. I just like the general topic of their albums and vibe

Surprisingly enough, i got more and more immersed into MCR after my ex broke up with me and I got over him super quickly because of that :)
