why do mosquitoes exist?

mosquitos are just evil to me. they bite people, are annoying, and now they really don't serve a purpose in the food chain so they literally don't have a reason to exist.

they exist out of pure spite maybe. sorry to hear that. i hope you killed it

Aside from being food for bats I can't really think of much of a reason for them to exist either

they exist solely to cause maximum human suffering.. 

To deal with the ever growing population of humanity? 700,000 die each year due to mosquitoes. These pests must be stopped!
