linux stuck at 1024x768

my monitor supports 1368x768 but when i switch to any linux distro it is stuck at 1024x768 and i need to change it using xrandr on terminal, what could be the cause of this? (thiz problem didnt happen on windows o.o)

Sounds like you're stuck with the VESA driver, and the adapter doesn't properly report the native resolution. I'm not sure what you can do about it.

It does indeed sound like you're stuck on the VESA driver. What Linux distributions have you tried? Like the very latest Ubuntu and Linux Mint for instance?

Do you know what graphics card your computer has?
