I'm fairly new to the genre and I mostly like the songs from The Longing's OST and Secret Stairways, and I'd very much like to explore this style of music - I'm open to any suggestions, but what I really want is something atmospheric and melancholy.

Little late to this, sure you already found some artists, but some really good ones are Mortiis or Pumpkin Witch. Dungeon Synth Archive on youtube is great for finding new artists, but you should also check out the Dungeon Synth Forums! Once you've gotten into it you might want to try Kellersynth, for that I'd recommend something like Opiated Devilsperm though they also do standard Dungeon Synth.

Absolutely make sure you listen to JIM KIRKWOOD (otherwise the coolest guy ever)!!!
