How do I tease my hair correctly ?

Hi, I'm a baby bat and I will soon be able to do a deathhawk (sort of, just without the hair strands right above the ears).

I have very thick hair who handled few bleaching sessions in the past couple years pretty well, I think they are strong enough to go trough teasing it. But my hair being thick is also the inconvenient of it being really heavy, so I'm worried they will not stay in a deathhawk shape.

• How do I tease properly all those layers of thick hair ?
• Should I buy special brushes for it ?
• Anything I should do or avoid to do in particular ?
• How do I correctly treat my hair afterward ?
• Do you have a vague idea of how long I should let my hair rest between 2 teasing ?
