how to find local emo/punk/scene bands?

u can filter by genre, location, and new on bandcamp, i've found some local bands that way :) and u might only need to find a couple of bands on ur own and then u can see what bands they play shows with and at what venues

see which bands are opening for the big alt acts, theyre usually pretty good

I'd also recommend looking at the local Alternative nightclubs. Sometimes they will have smaller bands perform for them, or will play some throughout the night. It's a 'needle in a haystack' method but you may still find something.
