100%! i particularly like ghost riders in the sky, vaughn monroe's version, if you know it.
if you know your french (the only reason i bring this up is because it's what i know best), i think you could get a good laugh out of cayouche, or you could like la rue principale by les colocs (not necessarily a country group but this song particularly is country)
i specifically like french canadian folk/folk-inspired songs, like envoyons d'l'avant or *a lot* of stuff by mes aïeux (even in the usa i'm sure you've heard dégénérations/le réel du fossé at least once before)
what you might not expect is that a lot of these songs aren't stories about toiling in the woods but are often jokes and innuendos about taboo things (en bon fr ce sont des chansons cochonnes), like in l'auberge de l'écu and tape la bizoune (which isn't even subtle about it lmfao)
for acadian folk there i rly like angèle arsenault too! one of her songs is on my profile actually :3
and since you're from louisiana! i recently discovered that cléoma falcon makes me cry /pos and zydeco like from canray fontenot and bois sec Ardoin is a good listen too.
i realise these aren't necessarily country in the way you meant it but i saw a place where i could share and i shared ^^
