I'd played (mostly) all of the Kingdom Hearts games for the first time a couple years ago, when Kingdom Hearts 3, the 1.5 + 2.5 collection, and the 2.8 collection were on Xbox Game Pass. For the past year I've been feeling the itch to replay the games, and I've been teasing the idea of replaying the whole series as a Let's Play/Stream for my YouTube channel for the past few months. I finally decided it was time to play again a few weeks ago and I've been having a blast!

Replaying the Kingdom Hearts series
My plan is to go through all the games as they're listed on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, in the most modern way we can play them, and excluding the mobile/browser games. For example: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix from the 1.5 +2.5 collection instead of the PS2 original, but 358/2 Days on a DS Emulator instead of the movie from the 1.5 + 2.5 collection. It's a lot of games to play, but it'll be a fun adventure I think!
So far, I'm actually liking Kingdom Hearts 1 more this time than I did the first time around! I think I may be in the minority, but that first game was the lowest experience for me in playing the whole series for the first time. Kingdom Hearts 2 is when it really hit it's stride for me, and if I'm being honest Kingdom Hearts 1 is the only game I disliked from a gameplay perspective in the whole series. As of right now I've finished Wonderland, Deep Jungle, Olympus, and Agrabah and I've been really enjoying myself. There's still some weirdness that I don't think I'll ever get over, like how the platforming feels in places like Deep Jungle, but also it's really fun to see Kingdom Hearts' humble origins. We'll see if I still have this enthusiasm once I get to the Giant Ursula fight and the final Ansem bosses at the end, but for now I'm still excited to play.
Have you done a replay of any of the Kingdom Hearts games recently? Any games in the series you want to go back to?
