play games where you interact a lot with people!!! i promise my 2 closest friends are both from genshin...its a little embarrasing   

If you've got some sort of ongoing common interest I think it can be easy to make online friends. Playing games that you enjoy together or talking about anime/manga that is currently airing? As long as you aren't a dick most people won't mind talking, and eventually you'll become closer and want to reach out more often. Not really sure about IRL because I've known all of them since primary/highschool.
